ETL/Power Center/BO Senior Developer - Switzerland

Stellenbeschreibung:1.1 Position Description
A top bluechip organization is seeking an experienced Software Consultant / Developer to act as the primary technical architect for master data related projects to solve some of the toughest challenges on the project. This position will also be responsible for providing deep technical expertise in database design, ETL, reporting and analytics. This will include being able to integrate with the database development and reports development teams to create ETL processes and data marts for project applications; being compliant with project standards and guidelines, and integrating these standards into the development process.

Responsibilities:

Architecture, planning, design and development of business intelligence solutions, including data and systems architecture as well as reporting and ETL frameworks
Coordination with other development teams to create an integrated solution
Providing technical expertise in the design and development of reports and planning models
Modifying existing design
Understanding of the development practices for the current and planned applications in the Business Intelligence and Planning areas
Serves as the point of contact for all development tasks on the project
Provides thought leadership on business intelligence and data design concepts and leading practices
Responsible for technical architecture creation, product selection tasks, overall technical strategy for the project, and design of the system infrastructure
Translate client user requirements into technical architecture vision and implementation plan
Ability to solve complex technical problems, assimilate information rapidly, and work under time constraints
Analyze business requirements and translate them into functional and high-level technical design specifications

Reviews and updates and data model as required
Develop ETL mappings using Informatica PowerCenter, Oracle PL/SQL, SQL and Unix shell scripts in a multi-dimensional large federal data environment
Work with the business analysts, and developers, and user acceptance team members as required
Make recommendations for improvement of applications to programmers and software developers or engineers
Designs, develops, documents, and deploys solutions to populate the Data from source to target
Participates in weekly, monthly, and other technical meetings to provide status or input as needed
Conducts code walkthroughs on a periodic basis
Performs requirements analysis and design
Facilitate deployment activities
Plans and leads the requirement clarification and design meetings
Provides technical guidance and mentors members of the development team
Provides development support (coding) as needed to meet project deadlines
1.2 Skills
Minimum of 12+ years experience in IT consulting with at least six years in Business Intelligence and Data Warehousing

Experienced practitioner in implementing mid- to large-scale ETL solutions, performing data analysis and profiling, interacting with client management, leading ETL teams, and designing and architecting DW ETL solutions

INFORMATICA: At least four to six years experience in Informatica version 8.x design and development is a must. Informatica certifications desirable

ORACLE 9i and 10g: Experience in database performance optimization techniques, multidimensional database designs, and physical database implementations

In-depth knowledge of BI best practices and data modeling techniques a must. Capable of writing sophisticated queries and PL/SQL stored procedures

BUSINESS OBJECTS: Strong background in BO 6.5 and XI. Experience installing and configuring BO, as well as designing and developing Universes and reports

POWERDESIGNER: Experience using one or both data modeling tools from logical design through physical implementation and generation of data definition language (DDL)

Strong verbal/written communication skills

QA/Testing: expert knowledge of quality processes, ability to recommend and implement improvements to existing quality assurance processes

Ability to interact with client personnel and develop positive working relationships

This is 6 months rolling contract opportunity.
